Things that I am likely to object to

There are word and phrase choices that I will steer you away from. It is best that you steer yourself away from them first.
  1. "Amongst" - It means the same thing as among and it takes two fewer letters.
  2. "Utilize," "utilization," and other versions - Unless in a formal or formulaic name, replace with use.
  3. "Cater to" - Should appear only in the context of food service.
  4. "Studies show" - discuss specific studies and correctly cite.

Avoid all clichés.

This list will grow. In the meantime, if I mark something as trite, omit it from further writing submitted to me.
